Conclusion: Jetlag Productions' The Hunchback of Notre Dame

Quasimodo dreams of Esmeralda through song
Jetlag Productions' The Hunchback of Notre Dame does not serve any real purpose.

As a film for children, it's too boring and creepy to keep their attention.

As an adaptation of the novel, while it is quite faithful, it's too childish (and too dumb if I'm being honest) to appeal to adults.

It doesn't even work as a mockbuster, because it doesn't resemble the film it's ripping off at all.

So who is this for?

It's more competently made than the Dingo Pictures adaptation, I'd be a liar to say otherwise, but part of me likes it less. I know it doesn't make any real sense to say that. Objectively, this is the better film.

But at least I could laugh at Dingo Pictures. The abysmal animation and ghastly character designs are awe inspiring, if only because they are so unprofessional.

Here, things are passable. There is a beginning, middle, and end. It is competent. It is bland. It is forgettable.

And, at 48 minutes, it is a slog to sit through.
